How would you rate your holiday overall? “The week was filled with great food, excellent tutelage from Anna and Gerda and skilled logistics and organisation by Dave & Gill. Torrox & surrounds is a fabulous environment to be painting in – the light and colours are inspirational. Even the weather was in our favour which made the ‘plein air’ experience at the beach particularly special. I feel that I’ve gained much from Anna’s wonderful spirit and approach to painting and I am looking forward to heading home and applying t his approach to some of my own works – thank you!” Robyn Young

How would you rate your holiday overall? “Having reviewed the website and read all the glowing comments about the holiday, I can confirm that they are all true! It was my first visit to the Spanish Costas and southern mountains. They did not disappoint. The atmosphere was set by the superb Spanish style accommodation. The regional fresh food adding to the colouring. Instruction was inspirational, pushing you into artistic style from any level. The visit to Acebuchal was fabulous and I wished the painting time could be extended there. I travelled alone but enjoyed the company of the other students who mixed really well together.”

How would you rate your holiday overall? This was the first painting holiday I have been on and thanks to the enthusiasm and expertise of the people involved it was an great experience. Our small group got excellent support from tutor Anna, with helpful demonstrations, encouragement and varied locations to paint in. The travel arrangements were smooth and efficient, and hosts Jill and Dave gave us a genuinely warm welcome . We had superb meals at their lovely house, as well as the group eating out together at a different restaurants around the village. It was good to be based in our own little house in the pretty village of Torrox, with lovely sea and mountain views from the roof-terrace, but also to have the opportunity to socialise. I went with a non-painting partner who was equally warmly welcomed and could come along with the painting and photography groups or take up the option of self-guided walks.
I would highly recommend this company.

How would you rate your holiday overall? I thought Anna an excellent teacher who was able to communicate with enthusiasm not just the technical aspects of painting but also the importance of accessing the creative side. Regarding the hospitality shown this was second to none. I would certainly recommend a painting holiday with Paint Andalucia. I felt I came away a better artist. The holiday was good value for money.

Anna is a gifted painter and an excellent tutor. As a novice painter i was made to feel at ease straight away and I have come home with a painting I am proud of. It was a fabulous experience and I will be telling all my friends about it.

What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
The friendliness, professionalism, enthusiasm, knowledge and helpfulness of all the people concerned with the holiday. Nothing was too much trouble. Everything was done for us. We began to lose the ability to make decisions!!
What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday? Be prepared for a week full of inspiration, fun, friendliness, good food and wine and the chance to bounce ideas off each other. Some prior knowledge of how to paint with acrylics would help.
Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, and minimized impacts on the environment? Those whose houses were rented to us, and the owners and workers in the various cafes or restaurants we patronised benefited. I believe any food left uneaten was recycled by the animals on the holiday organisers farm! As our accommodation was in the narrow streets of Torrox we walked to and from our houses keeping us fit and pollution out.
